Meeting between students and client to confirm: project objectives, timelines, budget, communication methods, and important dates. This meeting will help students create the Scope Statement.

Meeting between students and client to confirm tasks/processes, durations, milestones and timelines.

November 17, 2018Human Resources discussion (hours worked, hourly rates)
Meeting between students and client to confirm who will be in charge of which project tasks, and how much effort will be required to execute each task (i.e. hourly costs). This data will be an input to the Gantt Chart.

December 7, 2018Students Present Complete Project Plan
Students will deliver a 5-7 minute classroom presentation summarizing their project plans. Students can use videoconferencing technology if the client is attending remotely, and will include a Q&A. Industry partners are invited to attend, but attendance is optional.

leadership communication researchA group of 3-4 International Business Diploma students will spent approximately 25-30 hours collectively to develop a project plan for a project of your choosing. The will use your project objectives, timelines, budget and resource requirements to create a roadmap that you can implement to execute the project successfully.
Learners
1. Students will deliver a written project plan. Project plans include, but are not limited to:
- Project Charter (document that formally authorizes a project)
- Project Scope Statement (expands on the Project Charter)
- Work Breakdown Structure
- Gantt Chart in MS Project (linked tasks with dates and durations)
- Gantt Chart enhanced with stakeholders responsible, hours worked and cost
2. A presentation summarizing the project plan, and highlighting any key risks or considerations.

Project Examples
Requirements
Students can develop a plan for a new or ongoing project or initiative. There are no limits to the nature of this project, and students will work with you to gather the data needed to create a successful plan.
Below is a list of project types that students can create plans for, but it is by no means exhaustive:
- Opening a new branch, domestically or overseas
- Development of a new product or service
- Internal research
- Supply chain
- Import & export of a new or existing product
- Anything related to international (or domestic) business management, which will help you fine-tune the steps/processes required to succeed in your endeavour
The students will not be executing the project tasks; they will only outline them for you.
