Project Examples

Requirements

This project can help your business make better decisions based on data.

A group of four 3rd year student consultants will spend a semester (~14 weeks) solving a business data analytics challenge that is currently affecting your business. The group will set goals using the SMART method and orient the subsequent project based on the objectives identified. They will apply quantitative tools to analyze hidden trends and patterns towards informed decision making. They will convey findings using effective and interactive data visualization methods. Students typically look at publicly available datasets related to a variety of problems.

Past work examples include:

  • Determining house sale prices in neighborhoods based on county data, online real estate market place and structural features.
  • Establishing the hospital discharge and outcome probability of patients admitted to ICUs using data mining.
  • Predicting determinant variables and patterns that influence auto accidents in NYC.
  • Structuring ad revenue pricing for online media sites based on article shares.
