EmpowerED: A Real-World Learning Platform for Young Adults with Developmental Disabilities

Resilient Hearts aims to develop an online platform designed to facilitate real-world learning experiences for young adults with developmental disabilities. The platform will focus on teaching life skills and social skills in an engaging and accessible manner. Through interactive modules, virtual simulations, and community-driven content, users will have opportunities to gain practical skills, build social connections, and enhance their independence in daily life.  Objectives:   Accessible Learning : Create a user-friendly, accessible platform tailored to the cognitive and physical needs of users with developmental disabilities.  Life Skills Development : Provide virtual modules and simulations for daily tasks like cooking, budgeting, personal hygiene, and time management.  Social Skills Training : Include scenarios and games that teach communication, conflict resolution, and community participation.  Supportive Learning Environment : Facilitate engagement through an interactive, supportive online community where learners can practice skills and collaborate.  Monitoring & Feedback : Enable teachers, caregivers, and mentors to track progress and provide personalized feedback to users.
