1000 Towns of Canada digital project 1000towns.ca offer a remote internship opportunity for the team of 3-4 marketing students. The primary focus for the student will be: Manitoba Small Towns Tourism - #1000towns is a digital platform connecting travellers and small town communities in all Canadian Provinces and Territories. Based on British Columbia, we want to conduct market research to clarify business opportunities and the best ways to reach #1000towns audience. The project can include: Investigate our competitive landscape; perform market segmentation to identify the ideal target market conduct customer surveys or focus groups to gain insights into the perceptions and behaviours of our target customers; identify expansion opportunities; etc. Our goal at the end of this experience is: Market Research - For the student(s) to help us gain a better understanding of our target market and ensure we are optimally positioned and our platform aligns with our target sector/customer. We will plan to communicate with our virtual intern(s) using any digital communication tools - Zoom, Skype, Trello, Slack, Google Drive, etc. (list expected channels - eg. 1000 Towns of Canada - How to reach small businesses in towns across Canada
1000 Towns of Canada 1000towns.ca is a digital platform connecting small towns all across the country and travellers. In the 1st stage, we are building local content (Top Places to Visit in Your Town) connecting with town residents. We are looking for a student team who help us to research small businesses in different provinces and how to reach them distantly.

SEO Optimization and Social Media Management for 1000towns.ca
Positions available: 2-3 1000towns.ca website is built on WordPress. It was launched three years ago. Our team is looking for social media marketing wizards who can help us drive more traffic and improve our SEO positioning. The primary project requirements include: Keyword analysis to determine relevant search terms to our organization A strategy document to outline: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) requirements to ensure our organization appears on the first page of Google for relevant keywords Social media requirements to increase the number of followers/likes and share Content Calendar Execution: Timely deployment of all our social media content to drive maximum traffic to our site Creating engaging content for prominent media websites Working with tools and programs such as Facebook and Instagram. We’re excited to work with students who can help us not only brainstorm, but also execute a strategy to help us increase our social media presence and searchability. This is a great project for students to prove their digital marketing expertise to future employers, as the impact of their work on this project can be easily measured and communicated.

Digital Content Creation for 1000towns.ca
Number of individual students required: 15 students from all Canadian Provinces and Territories 1000towns.ca website was created three years ago. We launched >70 unique pages Top Places to Visit in your Town. We would like students to help us with creating content about towns in all provinces/territories that are aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. You can check existing pages on 1000towns.ca to clarify our formats. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will: Choose 5-10 towns they are interested Choose the most interesting attractions for each town Write a short description of each attraction 'Communicate with local communities asking for feedback and ideas Assist with social media to promote 1000 Towns Ultimately, you will be working on content creation for our organization. If you like the sound of our culture and enjoyment of travelling off-the-beaten-path and are ready to tackle this challenge with us, then we'd love to hear from you. A student with excellent writing skills and an interest in local travelling would be the ideal candidate for this project.
